As part of a creative contest in partnership with Tissus Print, the designer @LauraJrdn took on an exceptional challenge: designing a custom dress for one of her followers, starting from scratch, using a personalized fabric printed especially for the occasion.

Through a series of TikTok videos documenting each step of this sewing journey, Laura demonstrates how passion, co-creation, and quality fabric can bring a unique piece to life.

The Contest – Giving a Custom Dress to a Follower

The project began with a creative contest on TikTok, organized by Laura in partnership with Tissus Print, experts in personalized dress fabrics. The goal: to offer a follower the dress of her dreams, fully imagined and tailored to measure.

Anissa won the contest. She described her dream dress: a long dress, cross-back, with plenty of gathers – a bohemian and romantic style, reflecting her personality.

Step 1 – Choosing the Perfect Fabric

First, Laura selected a fabric suitable for this type of dress. She chose a combed cotton poplin: a soft, fine, breathable material, perfect for summer dresses or gathered pieces due to its beautiful drape.

Step 2 – Creating a Unique Pattern Together

To make the dress truly unique, Laura enlisted an illustrator (also named Laura!) to create a custom pattern, with Anissa's help. Together, they imagined a soft, fresh, poetic blue tie-dye, perfectly suited to the dress style.

Step 3 – A Tailored Pattern

To ensure the dress perfectly fit Anissa's silhouette, Laura called on her friend Xochil, a pattern maker, who created a custom pattern. Using her measurements and creative collaboration through several fittings, the dress was designed to be bespoke from the start.
