All about the rigid felt

What is the felt?
The felt is a thick and resistant fabric, composed 100% polyester. Its grammage of 180 g / m² and its thickness of 1 mm give it an ideal rigidity for creative projects requiring a solid structure, such as creating accessories, decoration or even prototypes. Unlike more flexible tissues, the felt retains its shape and offers excellent stability, which makes it perfect for achievements requiring a good performance.

Rigid Felt Printing: Quality and Precision
In Tissus PrintWe use high quality printing technologies to customize your felt. This method guarantees impressions with vibrant, durable and faithful colors to your designs, while respecting the texture of the fabric.

The advantages of our textile printing :
Color loyalty : The inks used ensure a precise reproduction of your visuals, with a vibrant rendering that lasts in time.
RESPECT FOR THE FIBERS : Ink enters the felt directly, offering a more natural and resistant result than thermocolled prints.
Printable Large Large : With a width of 90 cm, the rigid felt makes it possible to realize your creations without wastage.

Good to know:

  • A slight color variation may appear between the display on your screen and the printed fabric.
  • The rigid felt is stable, but there may be a slight narrowing during the first wash (about 1% in width and 2% in length).

What is the best printing resolution ?

So that the quality of your file to print is perfect, we print in 300 dpi. Beyond, the file will be heavier, but will not increase in quality.

A minimum of 150 dpi is recommended for a quality and professional printing.

We can print in 72 dpi (standard web quality) without problem, if you do not have a better quality. Nevertheless, the quality will be lower!

What scale will my image be?

The size of the image will not be modified once it in our possession. It will be printed on a scale 1/1 only, so it is necessary to check your front file sends to be certain that the size corresponds to your needs.

Which colorimetric mode should I choose?

We accept CMYK and RGB colorimetric modes, however, we advise us to send us your files in format RGB.

The RGB has a widest and more vibrant color range than CMYK.

mode de colorimétrie

The most important being to incorporate a ICC color profile to your file to transcribe the colors on your impression.

profil couleur icc

Nevertheless, we recommend that you create your images to work with a Color Profile ICC Adobe RGB 1998 To have a widest possible color palette. It is a very efficient and free color profile for all.

How much size should my file be?

To ensure a fluid and efficient experience when sending your custom fabric print files, it is crucial to meet the following file size specifications:

  • Less than or equal to 25 MB : For size files equal to or less than 25 MB, you will use our online customization tool. This tool allows you to preview Your real-time pattern, thus ensuring visualization of your design before printing.
  • Greater than 25 MB and less than 100 MB : If your file exceeds 25 MB but remains below 100 MB, you can access our simple file send option. This method allows you to Download your file without preview directly Online. Just make sure your file meets our other requirements in terms of format and quality or order a bat.
  • Greater than 100 MB : Files exceeding 100 MB will automatically be refused when sending. We therefore recommend that you reduce the size of your file before sending.
How to know the size of my file?

For the size of your file, you can follow these simple steps depending on the operating system of your computer:

On Windows:

  1. Locate the file you want to know the size.
  2. Right-click the file.
  3. In the context menu that appears, select "Properties".
  4. A window will open, displaying various information about the file, including its size in bytes (or kilobytes, megabytes, etc., depending on the size of the file).

On Mac OS:

  1. Find the file you want to check the size.
  2. Right-click (or hold the Control key while clicking) on the file.
  3. In the context menu that appears, select "Read information".
  4. A window will open, displaying various information about the file, including its size in bytes (or kilobytes, megabytes, etc., depending on the size of the file).

Once you have identified the size of your file, you can take the necessary measures to compress or send it according to the specifications required for your custom fabric print.

How to reduce the weight of its file?

Reduce the size of your file may seem complex, but a few simple steps can help you achieve this:

Verify that your file is well flattened : Files with layers can be larger. So make sure to flatten before saving them.

Save your file in LZW (For TIFF files): The use of this compression method can considerably reduce the size of your file without compromising the quality of the image.

Use online tools to compress the image : Many sites offer free picture compression tools. However, be sure to select a compression that maintains acceptable image quality for your project.

By following these tips, you will be able to effectively reduce the size of your file while preserving the quality of your design, thus facilitating the sending process andprinting on fabric.

What format for my file?

We recommend 3 types of formats:

  • JPEG / JPG (high resolution of 300 dpi recommended)
  • TIFF / TIF (LZW compression needed during recording)
  • PNG (recommended for theDTF printing)

If you need Convert your file in TIFF formatyou can do it easily with software like Photoshop. Just open your file in Photoshop, and then select "Save As" in the "File" menu and choose the TIFF format. Make sure to select the LZW compression when registering. You can also use online tools such as IlovePDF.com which propose conversions of simple and fast files.

What are the maximum printing dimensions?

The maximum width is that of the print medium itself which is 1600 cm. However, our fabrics do not all have the same laizes. Refer to our Material Guide, to know all the widths.

Do I have to add margins around my design if I want space to cut fabric or border?

The printer always adds a white border by default around a coupon, but it remains fine (less than 1cm). That's why we advise you to Always add a margin additional to the dimensions of your fabric.

Are there any risk of discoloration?

A slight discoloration can occur during washing or intensive use of a fabric. In addition, if the printed fabric stays in the sun for a long time, it is possible for it to be discolored. The ink we use is not anti-UV.

Does my fabric shrink during the printing process?

The risks are very high according to the subjects, between 1 and 4% per meter.

Is it possible that I see slight color variations between my orders?

If the printing textile media is not the same, the ink will not deposit in the same way on the fiber, although it is the same pattern. The same pattern will be able to make the same color rendering according to the tissues. That's why we suggest you order a sample of your personalised fabric before you place your order.

Is the printing technique ecological?

Yes, our printing process is environmentally friendly. This on-demand printing system allows us to avoid surplus stock. In addition, the ink used when printing is certified Oeko-Tex (CQ 1296/1 IFTH).
